The Royal Commission for Riyadh City has launched the Noise Pollution Monitoring Project as part of the Riyadh Sustainability Program. The project includes the installation of 30 fixed and mobile devices to monitor noise pollution levels across different areas of the city.
The Noise Pollution Monitoring Project complements Riyadh’s environmental monitoring system, as the commission works through the Riyadh Sustainability Program to launch multiple initiatives addressing environmental challenges, including air pollution, water pollution, and noise pollution.

The project aims to develop a comprehensive database of noise levels and sources, enforce regulations and policies to mitigate noise pollution, and ultimately contribute to enhancing quality of life and protecting public health in Riyadh.
As part of the project, a field study was conducted to determine the optimal locations for installing noise monitoring devices. Additionally, the Air and Noise Quality Application was developed, providing real-time data on noise levels and sources across the city. Riyadh residents can download the app to stay informed about current noise conditions.
