King Salman Park Project is one of the four major Riyadh projects launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz—may Allah support him—on Tuesday, Rajab 12, 1440 AH, corresponding to March 19, 2019. The project was initiated by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, with the aim of providing diverse sports, cultural, artistic, and entertainment options for the residents and visitors of Riyadh, as well as contributing to improving the quality of life in the city in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 for a vibrant and healthy society, and enhancing Riyadh’s global ranking.

King Salman Park spans over 16 square kilometers, making it the largest urban park in the world. It offers a wide range of high-quality activities and experiences for residents and visitors, featuring extensive green spaces with more than one million trees, open plazas covering over 11.6 square kilometers, the Royal Arts Complex, the National Theater, a 7.2-kilometer circular walking trail, and the central ‘Valley’ area with various water features, artistic landmarks, and iconic installations. The park will play a significant role in increasing green coverage in the area and raising the per capita share of green spaces, directly and positively impacting environmental quality and climate.
